George Michael 'rekindled close friendship with Kenny Goss' before his death

George Michael had become close to his ex-boyfriend in the weeks before his death, it emerged today.
The singer, who passed away aged 53 yesterday, had 13-year relationship with Kenny Goss, the man often described as the love of his life, before the pair split in 2011.
But it has emerged that the former couple had become close again in recent weeks, with Texan art dealer Kenny encouraging the star to get back into music

Friends had said the pair were even thought to be considering getting back together before Michael's tragic death from heart failure yesterday.
Speaking just weeks ago, a source told The Sun: 'George and Kenny are back spending time together again and it's an exciting time for those of us who have been so worried over the last few years.
'A full-fledged comeback feels much more likely with Kenny back on the scene to keep George happy and balanced.'

Michael and Goss's relationship emerged in 1998, when Michael came out as gay after his arrest for 'engaging in a lewd act', following a sting in a public toilet by Beverly Hills cops.
The couple's open relationship lasted more than a decade and they announced they had split in 2011, although it is thought they had separated two years earlier.
Goss continued to support his ex however, accompanying him to a court appearance in 2010 and flying to Austria to visit him in hospital when he contracted pneumonia in November 2011.

Michael's last boyfriend was Fadi Fawaz, a London-based hair stylist. They were last photographed together in September last year, after which Michael was rarely seen in public.
Michael had struggled in the final decade of his life. In February 2006 he was arrested and charged with possession of class C drugs and in July of the same year he was accused of engaging in sexual activity on London's Hampstead Heath.
In 2010, he was jailed for crashing his Range Rover into a shop front while under the influence of drugs. He checked himself into a 14-day detox at a clinic after the crash, and later explained that he had been addicted to sleeping tablets.
However, the star had a number of plans in the pipeline before his death yesterday.
Michael's 1990 album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 was set to be reissued accompanied by a new film featuring Stevie Wonder, Sir Elton and the supermodels who starred in the video to his hit single Freedom! '90.

An appeal for archive footage and imagery from fans including 'mass Wham! hysteria' had been made on Michael's website in August, with a post on his official Facebook page saying: 'George is personally seeking rare Wham! & George Michael photos and video and we need your help!'
The movie, with the working title Freedom: George Michael, was to be narrated by Michael and set to feature Mark Ronson, Mary J Blige, Tony Bennett, Liam Gallagher, James Corden and Ricky Gervais.
