Prince George and Charlotte won't get gifts from public
Prince George and Charlotte won't get gifts from public
They're sent thousands of gifts from royal fans all over the world.
But now it has been revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte won't be receiving all of the presents that are sent to them to this Christmas.
Many of the gifts are donated to charity, with only a selection taken into the home for the young royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be 'very careful' about how many presents their children are given.
This year, George, four, is likely to receive the police car that he requested from Father Christmas, while a doll house is a 'strong contender' for two-year-old Charlotte.
Speaking to Us Weekly, a source said that spoiling their children too much is Kate and William's 'worst nightmare'.
'They’re both extremely careful,' the family friend said. 'Receiving that many gifts wouldn’t have a good effect on the kids.'
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace confirmed that some presents sent to George and Charlotte are given to charity.
'Some items will be taken into the home and others stored within the Royal Household,' they explained.
'On occasion, and where appropriate, items may be donated to organisations who can make good use of them.
'Their Royal Highnesses are incredibly grateful for the warmth and generosity that has been extended to their children from members of the public.'
It comes after Prince William presented a letter to Santa from George during a visit to Helsinki at the end of last month.
Despite there being space to list five gifts, the note showed that the youngster only wanted to ask for a police car this year
And the young prince clearly thinks that he is deserving of the present as at the top of the paper where it asks whether he has been 'naughty or nice' the four-year-old has circled 'nice'.
But George and Charlotte will not have to wait until Christmas Day itself to open their presents, as traditionally the royals exchange presents on Christmas Eve.
Yesterday, George and Charlotte joined their parents at the Queen's annual Christmas lunch held at Buckingham Palace.
Following the family event, the youngsters looked rather sleepy as they were driven home by their father.
Charlotte was dressed in an adorable burgundy cardigan over a floral frock, while her older brother donned an £85 knit from Amaia.

The US search giant recorded sales of £1.03bn and a pre-tax profit of £149m in the UK for the 12 months to the end of June 2016. Google and other major tech firms have come under pressure over their tax arrangements. With his gap-toothed grin and cheeky expression, it is clear that Prince George is growing up fast. Two pictures of the future king have been released by Kensington Palace to mark his seventh birthday today. Gone are his chubby cheeks and the frilled Peter Pan-collar shirts that his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, so loved to dress him in as a toddler and beyond. Instead we see a little boy, tousled blond hair swept aside and grinning, wearing a camouflage green T-shirt. An appropriate choice given he will one day inherit his great-grandmother’s mantle as Head of the Armed Forces. George is already said to be obsessed with helicopters like his father. In another picture he is wearing a favourite olive green polo shirt and shorts. The pictures were taken by his mother Kate at the family’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, where George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte, five, and two-year-old Prince Louis, have spent lockdown.
