Meghan Markle effect sees more women requesting nose jobs



The Meghan effect is well and truly in full swing, with clothes and shoes worn by Prince Harry's new fiancée already flying off shelves.



And now it appears the actress has been inspiring a trend in an unexpected department - as fans go under the knife seeking to emulate the bride-to-be's nose.



Plastic surgeon Stephen T. Greenberg revealed that he has seen a spike in clients asking for Meghan's nose in the past six months, as well as in the days following her engagement announcement to Prince Harry.



In fact, he says that the Suits star has even overtaken the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner when it comes to celebrity-inspired plastic surgery requests.





Dr Greenberg, who is based in New York, believes that the appeal of a nose like Meghan's is its straight profile and defined tip, as well as the fact it isn't quite perfect.



Speaking to Allure, he said: 'Today she is probably one of the top - if not the number one - request that I am getting from patients hoping to look like their favorite celebrities.'



He explained: 'She has a pretty great nose, but I think the beauty of it is that it isn't perfect.



'From the profile you can see that she has a very slight dorsal hump of the nose that is almost undetectable when looking at her straight on.'





It comes after the number of women asking cosmetic surgeons to make their own noses resemble the Duchess of Cambridge's trebled in the two years after the royal wedding.



Explaining the interest, plastic surgeon Maurizio Persico told FEMAIL: ‘Her nose is straight with a cute, rounded tip and is perfectly in proportion to her face.



'This gives Kate an attractive and striking profile.



'Plus, she always looks happy and confident in photos, which is especially appealing to women whose own appearance makes them unhappy -  those who feel self-conscious about larger or crooked noses, which they believe dominate their faces.’
