Keke Palmer slams Kylie Jenner for caving to pressure



She became 2016's star baker after she was crown the winner of The Great British Bake Off.

Since her success, Nadiya Hussain, 32, has reflected on her life as a wife and mother, revealing that she doesn't want her children - Musa, nine; Dawud, eight; and Maryam, five - to have an arranged marriage like she did.

Despite being happily married to her husband Abdal for 11 years, the BBC star admitted that saying 'I do' to a total stranger at 19 was 'tough', vowing that her family will 'move with the times' and choose their own partners when the time comes.

Social media makes it difficult to remain authentic, according to Keke Palmer.

And the actress believes the Kardashians should shoulder much of the blame.

Speaking to Yahoo Beauty, the Scream Queens star said the internet has become so judgmental that people will either beat trolls to the punch and put themselves down, or conform to the societal version of perfection so that nobody can criticize.



'In the sense of the Kardashians, it’s like I’m going to show you so much perfect and be everything a woman should be or everything a man would like or love,' she said. 'And I’m going to be exactly that so you can’t bully me anymore.'

'Specifically in the situation with Kylie, where you’ve had a young girl people have seen on television since she was a kid and they literally told her she was so ugly … the ugly person in the family.



'She went and did apparently everything the world deems as beautiful. The even crazier part is that everybody loves her for it.'

The 23-year-old said young girls and boys of her generation are being shown that if you do everything that society wants you to be, not only will you be praised for it but you will make money for it.



'You can be profitable for not being who you truly are,' she added.

'That’s the thing we really have to be careful of and why I’m so honest about everything I’m going through — whether that’s sadness, happiness, depression, anger, boredom, whatever it may be. We all go through it.'

Keke, who started her professional career at the age of ten with a role in Barbershop 2 playing Queen Latifah's niece, believes she has figured out the secret to her career longevity so far.

'I haven’t been lying to myself or pretending to be happy when I wasn’t happy or sad when I wasn’t sad,' she said.

Keke recently joined the cast of Berlin Station for its second season; she joined fellow newcomer Ashley Judd at the Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour at The Beverly Hilton Hotel to discuss the show on Tuesday.
