Marc Anthony grieves mother's death with loving message



Marc Anthony's mother Guillermina Quiñones has died.

The singer, 47, tweeted the news on Thursday with a heartbreaking tribute.

'Today at 12:10pm my family's hero, our rock, our protector, inspiration and now ANGEL passed away,' Marc wrote in a message on Twitter.



'She left in peace, accompanied by all your prayers and well wishes for which we thank you all. Mami, I'm going to miss you so much!'

 Marc's mom had been in the hospital since, at least, last Saturday.



The popular Latin singer asked fans to 'please pray for my mom' in a tweet over the weekend after she was hospitalized in Puerto Rico.

He ended the tweet with: 'I love you Mommy.'



Earlier this week, the singer was spotted at the hospital with girlfriend Raffaella Mondugno.

A fan snapped a photo of the pair entering a room and posted it on Twitter.

The Grammy-award winning singer is the youngest of eight children.

 Earlier in July, Anthony confirmed his romance with Raffaella



The 47-year-old crooner was first linked to the Raffaella in May when he uploaded a photograph of themselves relaxing in the sun during Memorial Day weekend.

He captioned the snap: 'Making memories. Happy Memorial Day weekend. Wishing you the best @raffaellamodugno #forzanapoli.'

 Raffaella has been dividing her time between Rome and Los Angeles recently but insists her trips to the US are not just so she can be close to Marc - who shares nine-year-old twins Max and Emme with his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez.



He was married to J.Lo from 2004 until 2014 and the couple are still very close and Jennifer recently thanked Marc for helping make her new Latin single called Ni Tu Ni Yo a hit.

They collaborated together on her album.

As well as his twins with her, the hitmaker also shares Cristian, 16, and Ryan, 13, with first wife Dayanara Torres and daughter Ariana, 22, with ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado.

The crooner is gearing up for his Full Circle Tour, which kicks off on August 25 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and wraps in Chicago on Deember 3.
