Lily Allen posts string of anti Brexit tweets

Lily Allen has been criticised for sharing a string of anti-Brexit tweets on the day Theresa May triggers Britain's exit from the EU.

The singer shared a picture which listed the things that could be blamed on Brexiteers, before poking fun at a photo of Mrs May signing the Article 50 letter.

She also retweeted a message which read: 'I'll vote for the first f***er to say they'll reverse Brexit and I'm not alone.'

Another post read: 'Dear EU, if you're reading this, it's too late.'

But the singer faced backlash, with Twitter users accusing her of 'scaremongering' and 'talking a load of b******' and 'divisive nonsense'.

Her comments came as Mrs May addressed Parliament about Article 50, the law which has now triggered the exit process.

One critic wrote: 'You really want Britain to fail. For your ego, so you can claim the moral high ground.'  Another called her 'silly' saying 'no one knows what is going to happen.'

When she wrote that it would affect the poor, one Twitter user added: 'What do you know about poor people?'

Earlier this year the singer tweeted that a Global Britain 'could b (sic) good' - 'but the world still hates us cause, SLAVERY.'

But she deleted the tweet after getting lambasted by social media users.
