Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke has announced the birth of his baby twins.

He took to Instagram to share the special news on Thursday, posting a picture of two tiny pairs of ribboned booties with his signature stage top hat and cane.





He added the caption: 'Oh my! The little dancing feet have arrived. Mum and twins are perfect and dad is ridiculously excited!'



The professional dancer revealed that he was due to welcome a boy and a girl last December.



During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Anton gushed: 'We are going to have one of each.'

And, while staying quiet on the names in his announcement this week, the TV personality previously joked: 'I'm going for [the names] Anton and Antoinette.'

Having reached the age of 50 without a family - previously saying that, 'Performing was the “woman” in my life' - Anton found love with Hannah in 2007.



Their baby joy was revealed in November but it is believed they began trying for babies 'some time ago.'

Incidentally, Anton tweeted the same ribboned booties with top hat and cane picture, writing: 'We hear the 'tippety-tap' of tiny feet!'

Sources at the time suggested that the couple had turned to IVF as a resolution for their infertility troubles.

On his delight at falling pregnant, Anton said in December: : 'You can't describe how it feels, it's very difficult to describe. It's unbelievable.'

Their relationship has been 'very happy' he says, for six years and even spoke about plans to marry Hannah in 2017.



They found love shortly after his split from radio and TV broadcaster Caroline Feraday, but did not go public with their romance for years.

Speaking about his girlfriend, Anton said: 'Performing was the “woman” in my life, if you like - but then Hannah came along. She’s just perfect.

'She’s very beautiful, clever, but also really kind.’



Anton is best known for his role on BBC One dance competition Strictly, and is one of the few original professional dancers of the 13-year-old show.

The dance competition began in 2004 and during his years on-screen, Anton has danced with celebrities including Esther Rantzen, Kate Garraway and most memorably, Ann Widdecombe.

His best years in the show were beside Katie Derham in Series 13 and Laila Rouass in Series 7, when both placed in 4th position.
