Fergie's National Anthem at NBA All Star game is mocked



Some people weren't feeling Fergie's patriotic spirit at this year's NBA All-Star-Game.



The 42-year-old songstress was mocked for her rendition of the National Anthem at the opening of Sunday's game at Los Angeles' Staples Center.



Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and others in the stadium could be seen snickering while Fergie put her spin on the song, and even athletes were seen getting in a few laughs. 



Khloe Kardashian summed it up perfectly on Twitter saying: 'This All Star opening is confusing me. WTF is going on? Anyone?'





She had been criticized for singing over a pre-recorded version of the National Anthem at Barack Obama's second inauguration only to wow journalists when she sang it at the Super Bowl press conference in 2013.



Fergie's performance, which was watched by Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy in the crowd, was quickly labeled 'the worst rendition ever' by those who could not believe she chose to sing the 'Star-Spangled Banner' in such a way. 



'Bruhhhh #fergie #NBAAllStar,' stated a different user who posted that Fergie singing made Colin Kaepernick stand with the slogan 'Fergie sang that Anthem so bad, Kaepernick stood up and told her not to disrespect the Anthem like that.'



'What IS this f*ckery?? #Fergie,' asked another user using a gif of Prince.





Chynna Jeremiah shared a gif of a character from bob's burger and said: '#Fergie sounded like the lady who sings oil spill from bobs burgers.'



One user noticed: 'Not only is Steph Curry on twitter during the #NBAAllStar game, but he's liking tweets about how bad Fergie was (crying face emojis).' 



'The American national anthem was based off a 1770s drinking song,' said actor Robert Wuhl.





Author Daniel Jose-Older shared a gif of someone jingling a set of keys and added: 'pick one fergie #NBAAllStar.'



'Fergie’s Natl Anthem was an alternative fact,' said actress Amanda Seales.



Bob Saget joked: 'Fergie’s rendition of the National Anthem was originally written by Francis Scott Out of Key.' 



Britni Danielle added a gif of President Donald Trump and chimed: 'Let's be real, #Fergie gave the U.S. the anthem it deserves right now. I mean you see who the president is, right?'

'Who saw Fergie's national anthem performance at the NBA All Star Game? I think mine was better lowkey,' said Roseanne Barr who in 1990 gave her own questionable version.



It was an eventful NBA All-Star Game that saw many not too thrilled with comedian Kevin Hart's strange opener that ran longer than 15 minutes. He cracked awkward one-liners after almost every player's introductions. 



The 'Team Lebron' versus 'Team Curry' spectacle seemed to be a hit for a game as it was the first time captains could pick their teams.



Lebron James managed to pull out ahead as the better for this particular squabble, claiming victory with a score of 148-145.
