Melania Trump played the role of Cupid on Thursday, dressing up in a red coat to exchange Valentine's Day cards with young patients at the Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health.

The 47-year-old first lady looked festive in a $2,995 Calvin Klein wrap coat and classic black pumps for her visit to the residential center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Melania was all smiles as she chatted with the children and helped them decorate heart-shaped cookies with pink and white icing.

The former model's long wool coat was belted at the waist, and she kept it on throughout her visit to the Children's Inn.

Her highlighted brown hair was styled loose around her shoulders, and she kept her jewelry simple, wearing her wedding band on one hand and another platinum and diamond ring on the other. 

The children at the center sat around tables covered with pink table clothes, and the first lady happily exchanged Valentine's Day cards with them. 

At one point in the visit, Melania leaned over and gave one little girl a warm hug, squeezing her into her side. 

In addition to the valentines she received, the young patients at the Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health presented her with a gift.

Melania was photographed holding up the white box, which was decorated with a multi-colored and a sweet message.

'Happy Valentine's Day Mrs. Trump,' the box reads. 

The first lady shared her excitement on Twitter before her visit, tweeting: 'Looking forward to a very sweet afternoon visiting @theChildrensInn & celebrating Valentine’s Day with some kids at @NIH! #HappyValentinesDay.' 

Melania's visit came just one day after her husband's lawyer Michael Cohen revealed he personally paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels to keep the p**n star silent about her alleged affair with now-president, Donald Trump. 

People were quick to read into Melania's tweet about visiting the kids at the Children's Inn, with many pointing out that she didn't wish her husband a happy Valentine's Day. 

'Absolutely love that she doesn't even mention her husband,' a woman named Alexandra tweeted. 

She went on to say that Melania's tweet really means: 'Happy Valentines Day to everyone except my flabby wet baby of a husband, who I hate.'

'Hey @realDonaldTrump - this is what they call a totally deserved burn from wifey,' Peter Cassizzi wrote, and Thomas Cantwell joked: 'In our country, we traditionally spend this day with our spouses. Problems at home?'

In sharp contrast to Melania's romantic silence, former first couple Barack and Michelle Obama were quick to share public declarations of love in celebration of the romantic holiday. 

While Barack, 56, posted a cute image and heartwarming words, Michelle, 54, took the time to create a Spotify playlist of carefully-selected love songs for the occasion.

The list of songs includes classics such as Ben E. King's Stand By Me, Barry White's Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe, and Diana Ross' Endless Love.

There are also more modern tunes, including Beyonce's Halo, Janelle Monae's Primetime, and Adele's cover of Make You Feel My Love.

Other highlights include All of Me by John Legend, Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis, Dog Days are Over by Florence + The Machine, Fix You by Coldplay, Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel, Your Song by Elton John, and Shape of You by Ed Sheeran.

There's some rap, too, with appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, Common, as well as a few more upbeat dance options. Two of the tracks were by Calvin Harris — who even took to Twitter to celebrate his double inclusion in the list, writing: '2 songs on this list?!?! I’ve peaked.'

Barack, meanwhile, tweeted a sweet tribute to his wife, sharing an image of the couple, along with the message: 'Happy Valentine’s Day, @MichelleObama. You make every day and every place better.'

He shared the same image and message on Instagram, while Michelle took to the other social media platform to post the playlist — called 'Forever Mine, Michelle to Barack' — as well. 

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also took to Twitter to wish his wife Sophie a happy Valentine's Day, sharing a sweet photo of himself walking with his arm around his spouse.
