The decision comes in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, which saw details from 50 million Facebook users leaked to political activists. Believed to have operated on behalf of the Trump 2016 presidential campaign, the information was used to target voters in the US based on psychological profiling. The scandal has led to many users debating whether to delete their profiles on the social network, with the hashtag #DeleteFacebook trending on Twitter.  It has developed further today, with news that a Cambridge Analytica whistleblower claims Facebook uses people's smartphone microphones to spy on them. Image
Trump is looking forward to meeting Kim Jong un President Donald Trump says he's looking forward to meeting Kim Jong-un at a nuclear summit where he believes there's a strong chance the brutal North Korean dictator will agree to abandon his illicit weapons program. Trump said Wednesday that he had received a message from Chinese President Xi Jinping following Kim's shock visit to Beijing affirming the talks and informing him the conversation had been productive. The U.S. president welcomed the face-to-face between Kim and his country's closest ally in tweets that struck an optimistic chord yet emphasized the United States' commitment to its maximum pressure campaign on North Korea. 'For years and through many administrations, everyone said that peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was not even a small possibility,' Trump said. Officials announced on Wednesday they were taking the measure in response to Mr Assange's recent activity on social media. As part of an agreement between Mr Assange and the Ecuadorean government, he is not permitted to send any messages that could interfere with the South American nation's relations with other countries.    He has been living at the embassy since June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden to face questioning over allegations of s*x crimes, which he always denied. Sweden dropped the case, but Mr Assange remains subject to arrest in Britain for jumping bail.   Mr Assange also believes he will be extradited to the United States for questioning over the activities of WikiLeaks if he leaves the building. Former Greek minister Yanis Varoufakis and musician Brian Eno said...

Tracey Cox gives verdict on Kate and William and Harry and Meghan

Tracey Cox gives verdict on Kate and William and Harry and Meghan With a royal wedding looming, it’s hard not to compare the two couples the world will be watching. Kate and William and Meghan and Harry are very different couples in very different relationships. Kate and William took the traditional path: they were college sweethearts before they got married and had children, so have grown up together. Meghan and Harry met in their 30s with past relationships and life experiences in tow. Kate might be a ‘commoner’, but she was born into an upper-middle-class family with British parents and relatives who played host to British royalty ‘as long ago as 1926’. Meghan’s mixed race, American, Catholic, divorced, an older woman, an actress and about to marry an English Prince. What?!  Traditional royalists threw their hands in the air when Britain’s most eligible bachelor chose her to be his wife even if the rest of us cheered (Vive La Difference!) Kate respectfully toed the line right f...

Image
Prince Harry and ☢️Meghan Markle wedding invite has nod to divorce The big day is drawing near, and the coveted invitations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding have already landed on the doormats of the lucky few who will be at Windsor Castle on May 19.    But as the world whips itself into a frenzy over Meghan's impending marriage, MailOnline's etiquette expert William Hanson has pointed out that the painstakingly produced invitations included a subtle reference to her first one.  On the traditional invitations, issued in Prince Charles' name and written in American ink on English card, Meghan is referred to as 'Ms' Markle - in contrast to invitations to the 2011 royal wedding, on which the now Duchess of Cambridge was referred to as Miss Catherine Middleton.   Etiquette dictates that Ms is the correct way to refer to a divorced woman, but William has pointed out that the royal household has 'never before' acknowledged the honourific. He said: ...

Image
'Facebook will never sell your information' said Zuckerberg in 2009 Facebook will never sell your information without consent.' That is the impression Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was keen to give during a 2009 interview, but events in recent weeks suggest that was not the whole story. Video footage of the conversation was posted to Twitter by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal. It follows revelations that the Trump-affiliated consulting firm obtained data on at least 50 million unsuspecting Facebook users. This information was used to target voters in the US, based on psychological profiling, with political adverts spreading disinformation. The Queen welcomes the President of Estonia to Windsor Castle

Image
The Queen welcomes the President of Estonia to Windsor Castle Elegant in a cream dress, the Queen looked ready for spring as she welcomed the President of Estonia to Windsor Castle today. But a closer look at photos of the meeting reveals how the monarch, 91, is still feeling the bite of the lingering winter chill. For just feet away from where the Queen and President Kersti Kaljulaid shook hands was a simple grey fan heater, whirring away beneath an ornate console table The plastic-cased appliance, which costs roughly £30 from the high street, can be seen in the background of several photos of the Queen and President Kaljulaid.  Similar heaters have been seen in other rooms inside both Buckingham Palace and Balmoral, proving how the Queen is keen to keep her housekeeping costs to a minimum.  President Kaljulaid, 48, is on a three-day visit to Britain and has already met with the Prime Minister and members of the Government. Anastacia has wardrobe malfunction on Dancing With The Stars Italy

Image
Anastacia has wardrobe malfunction on Dancing With The Stars Italy She had an emotional exit from Strictly Come Dancing two years ago. But Anastacia had a somewhat unsuccessful return to the floor as she took part in Italy's version of the hit show over the weekend in a Dancer for a Night segment, which sees celebrities compete for scores as a special one-off appearance. Unfortunately, the I'm Outta Love singer's attempt appeared to go less than smoothly, with her suffering a disastrous wardrobe malfunction during a particularly clumsy lift. The musician, 49, was dressed in a tiny red and gold flapper dress for her salsa routine with show pro Maykel Fonts. While she looked incredible in the minuscule costume, the flimsy fabric did little to conceal her modesty during one particularly daring lift. As Maykel lifted the singer up and attempted to twirl her round, Anastacia flashed a little more than intended as her dress rode up to reveal her flesh-coloured tights and underwe...

Kylie Jenner flaunts her flat middle just seven weeks after daughter Stormi's birth She gave birth to her very child at the beginning of February. And it appears like Kylie Jenner is having no trouble getting back to her smoking pre-pregnancy figure, as evident by a Saturday Snapchat post. The makeup mogul, 20, turned to the side and pulled up her sweatshirt to show off her fantastically flat stomach while she zoomed into the mirror in the very short video clip Though the star's face was largely obscured by her phone, Kylie still gave followers plenty to look at. She hiked up her sweatshirt to reveal enviably flat abs and a hint of her full bust covered in a grey sports bra.  The reality star prominent backside provided quite the distraction, covered in clingy black leggings which fit like a second skin. At the bottom of the post, there was a small illustration of a manatee sitting at a laptop with the words 'Hard at work' written on bottom.  While Kylie's body tra...
