Anastacia has wardrobe malfunction on Dancing With The Stars Italy

She had an emotional exit from Strictly Come Dancing two years ago.

But Anastacia had a somewhat unsuccessful return to the floor as she took part in Italy's version of the hit show over the weekend in a Dancer for a Night segment, which sees celebrities compete for scores as a special one-off appearance.

Unfortunately, the I'm Outta Love singer's attempt appeared to go less than smoothly, with her suffering a disastrous wardrobe malfunction during a particularly clumsy lift.

The musician, 49, was dressed in a tiny red and gold flapper dress for her salsa routine with show pro Maykel Fonts.

While she looked incredible in the minuscule costume, the flimsy fabric did little to conceal her modesty during one particularly daring lift.

As Maykel lifted the singer up and attempted to twirl her round, Anastacia flashed a little more than intended as her dress rode up to reveal her flesh-coloured tights and underwear.

The star put her all into the performance though, looking exhausted as she finished up the routine to applause. 

Anastacia gave a clue as to the daring nature of the routine as she shared a look at rehearsals on her Instagram page earlier in the week with the caption: 'Holy s**t this dance is fast.'

After her live performance, the singer was full of gratitude for her pro partner, writing on Instagram:

'Thank you @maykel_fonts all your hard work and a fun exciting routine. When learning to dance it takes a patient, kind, enthusiastic teacher.'

'I felt you truly love helping others learn to dance. I wish the best for you and until we meet again my friend #italy #dance #salsa #record #time.'

The US musician was paired with Brendan Cole for the 2016 series of the UK's Strictly Come Dancing, where she was the sixth celeb to be voted off. 

Anastacia's appearance on the show was an emotional rollercoaster, after revealing she was taking part to boost her body confidence following two battles with breast cancer.

In Week One, she was controversially pulled from the Dance-Off when she ripped her mastectomy scar tissue during rehearsals.

She struggled through her Saturday night performance, but said that a repeat performance would be too risky on the Sunday night, leading producers to pull the Dance-Off for the first time in the show's history.

The elimination therefore came down to the public vote and saw the couple with the lowest votes, Melvin Odoom and Janette Manrara, exit the competition.
