Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend Invictus Games trials

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are to visit Bath to attend the UK team trials for the Invictus Games.

The prince and the American former actress, whose first ever official appearance was the 2017 event in Toronto, will meet the sporting hopefuls at the University of Bath sports training village on Friday April 6.

They were also pictured sharing a kiss for the first time at the closing ceremony last September.

Meanwhile they have also announced which members of the Armed Forces will take part in the Royal Wedding on May 19.

Members of the Household Cavalry, Royal Marines, Royal Gurkha Rifle and 1st Battalion Irish Guards will be among those to have duties on the big day

Next week the pair will watch competitors as they try out on the athletics track and field before chatting to those taking part in the indoor sitting volleyball trials.

Harry is patron of the Invictus Games Foundation and set up the sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women in 2014.

Harry and Meghan were pictured last year beaming with happiness as they watched the wheelchair tennis together.

The Invictus Games is being staged in Sydney, Australia, this year, with Harry and Ms Markle expected to head Down Under to attend the competition, which runs from October 20-27.

The UK team trials are being run by Help for Heroes, with support from the Ministry of Defence, The Royal British Legion and the Endeavour Fund, and will be hosted at the University of Bath over four days.

More than 400 military personnel and veterans are competing for one of the 72 places available on the UK team.

Regiments and units that have a special relationship with Prince Harry will provide ceremonial support at his wedding and during the newlywed's carriage procession, the Ministry of Defence has announced.

More than 250 members of the armed forces will perform ceremonial duties at the May 19 wedding.

Members of the Household Cavalry will form a staircase party at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The State Trumpeters and a Captain's Escort from the Household Cavalry will also provide ceremonial support.

Streets within the precincts of Windsor Castle will be lined by members of the Windsor Castle Guard from 1st Battalion Irish Guards, and by armed forces personnel from the Royal Navy Small Ships and Diving, Royal Marines, 3 Regiment Army Air Corps, The Royal Gurkha Rifles and RAF Honington.

A statement from Kensington Palace said: 'Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle are pleased that members of the Armed Forces will play such a special role in their Wedding.

'The Military, and these units in particular, hold a great significance for Prince Harry and the couple are incredibly grateful for their support.'
