Prince Harry has jetted off the Africa, after causing a storm with his explosive comments about the Throne.

The 32-year-old recently revealed in an extraordinary interview that none of the members of the Royal family want to be kind or queen.

He said: 'Is there any one of the Royal Family who wants to be king or queen? I don't think so, but we will carry out our duties at the right time.'



Now Harry has escaped the controversy of his comments by heading off to Malawi - but without his girlfriend Meghan Markle.

The prince, who is fifth in line for the throne, is staying at Mvuu camp in the Liwonde National Park, where he will help care for elephants.



His ten-day safari at the £350-a-night camp means he will miss several royal engagements - including Ascot over the last four days.

Harry's explosive comments came after an interview published on Wednesday with US magazine Newsweek.



He has never kept secret his lack of desire of the top job - but went further in suggesting that neither him nor his brother William want it either.

He added: 'The monarchy is a force for good and we want to carry on the positive atmosphere that the Queen has achieved for over 60 years, but we won't be trying to fill her boots.



'We are involved in modernising the British monarchy. We are not doing this for ourselves but for the greater good of the people.'

He also appeared to criticise the family decision for him to walk behind the coffin of Princess Diana when he was just twelve years old, saying: 'No child should be asked to do that.

The younger royals have been accused of being workshy, carrying out only a fraction of the engagements even their elderly grandparents manage.

However Harry feels as if he's had some success at being something other than 'Prince Harry', and desperate to make something of his life for himself.

He said:  'I feel there is just a smallish window when people are interested in me before (William's children Prince George and Princess Charlotte) take over, and I've got to make the most of it.'
