Selena's Gomez's kidney donor Francia Raisa reveals scar

She made the ultimate sacrifice when she donated her kidney to BFF Selena Gomez.

And after taking time out to recuperate, Francia Raisa is returning to her normal routine - and is back at the gym.

'Happy to be back!' tweeted the 29-year-old actress as she lifted hand weights, while showing off her new scar in a crop top and leggings.

The brunette is obviously dedicated to her exercise regime, with her outfit revealing her toned and fit figure.

 Last week Selena shared a photo of her and 'beautiful friend' Francia holding hands in their hospital beds.

In an accompanying message she revealed she had undergone a secret transplant after suffering kidney failure back in May.

Francia stepped in to help after Selena was put on the transplant list - and was found to be a match.

The two have long been friends, after first meeting nine years ago at a Disney and ABC Family charity event at the Children's Hospital.

Selena was just 15 at the time, but already a star, and the two 'just clicked'.

They call one another 'sister' and Francia was at Selena's side through her highly-publicized breakup with Justin Bieber.

A successful former model, Francia made her acting debut in 2005 in an episode of action show Over There - and made her film debut in the 2006 film Bring It On: All or Nothing.

A real life cheerleader at Bishop Alemany High School, she played Leti in the comedy sequel alongside Hayden Panettiere and Solange Knowles. 

She has also appeared on the US show The Secret Life of the American Teenager - and in 2017 had a role in the critically acclaimed Netflix show, Dear White People.

She is also set to appear in the Black-ish spin-off, Grown-ish.

Following in the steps of her father, radio personality Renan Coello, Raisa also hosts radio show WTFrancia on Main Stage on Dash Radio. 

Last week Selena, 25, paid tribute to Francia as she announced the surgery.

In her post she explained her organs started shutting down as a result of her battle with Lupus, in which the autoimmune disease mistakenly attacks healthy tissue.

'I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of.

'So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health.

'I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you.

'Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.

'And finally, there aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed.

The Hands To Myself hitmaker first revealed she'd been diagnosed with Lupus in 2015 and, one year later, took time out from her pop career to deal with 'anxiety, panic attacks and depression' that the life-threatening illness had also caused.
