Her holiday anthem All I Want For Christmas is nothing short of iconic.

So Mariah Carey will undoubtedly be waiting with baited for the release of her new festive single, The Star, the theme song for new movie of the same name of which she appeared at a photocall in LA on Sunday. 

The 47-year-old music legend looked sensational as she slipped her slimmed-down curves into an eye-popping nude gown with a sheer base and glitter worked throughout - perfect for showing off every inch of her stunning frame. 

Mariah was looking incredible for the evening, in which she was helping launch the animated movie, which features the voices of celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Clarkson and Tyler Perry. 

The gold dress looked sensational oN her frame, as she posed up a storm in the chic dress which featured an intricately adorned sequin pattern. 

Adding a touch of old school Hollywood glamour to the look, she swept her hair to one side with perfect curls worked throughout and flawless make-up. 

Naturally, the stunner was dripping with jewels complete with chandelier earrings and lashings of bangles on her wrists. 

The lyrics in her single follow the religious plot of the movie, with lyrics including: 'Follow your heart, it's Christmas/ Follow that star above you...

'Should the world try to break you down/ There is one who waits for you/ Though you can't see him now/ Thunder and rain surrounds you/ But His love's just a breath away.'

Mariah has become a symbol of festive cheer since the release of All I Want For Christmas in 1994 a song she co-wrote with Walter Afanasieff.

The song remains one of her best selling tracks and has entered the charts countless times during its 23 years of release.

Her appearance comes after her billionaire ex-James Packer spoke about his former love of a year-and-a-half during an interview with The Australian this month.

'She was kind, exciting and fun. Mariah is a woman of substance. She is very bright. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me,' he noted.

He said he met the songstress at a 'low point' in his life when debt within his empire was escalating and when he was looking for a way to spend more time in Los Angeles to be close to his children with second wife Erica.
