Taylor Swift hits back at critics who 'had so much to say'

She released the futuristic music video for her song ...Ready For It?'

And Taylor Swift is speaking out after viewers criticized her choice in wardrobe for the video.

The 27-year-old shared a series of photo to her Instagram stories on Friday wearing the nude bodysuit with the caption: 'It truly warms my heart that ppl had so much to say about this bodysuit.'

The musician added a laughing emoji.

Critics were up in arms about her nude bodysuit - the color of her skin - appearing as if she was naked.

Taylor posed innocently with her finger resting on her chin and her eyes wide while sporting the ensemble for her Instagram story

She also shared a mirror selfie of the look as well as a back view in the Instagram story.  

Taylor sported the skin tone colored bodysuit during filming; CGI was used to make her appear like a cyborg.

In the selfie, Taylor's bra is clearly seen under the flesh colored suit, which featured sheer paneling. 

The video was released midnight on Friday. 

The Joseph Kahn directed ...Ready For It? music video  appears to pay homage to various science fiction films.

Some of the visuals in the clip drew gasps for reasons other than the flesh on display - including apparent references to her exes. 

The use of an apparent cyborg made some reflect on Taylor's pen name Nils Sjöberg which she used for ex Calvin Harris' hit This Is What You came for.

The word cyborg could under the right circumstances appear to sound like Sjöberg (cy-berg).

And the video's director appeared to confirm it by tweeting 'Nils Sjöbot' as in robot or cyborg.

While other drew allusions to the amount of lightning in the video to that of the cover art for Calvin's single.

Other fans were quick to see not only Taylor's birth year ('89 scrolled in the video) but also her current boyfriend Joe Alwyn's date of birth as 91 was written in yellow.  

Fans with a penchant for transcribing and memorizing plots of films noted how the lyrics in the song 'Knew he was a killer/ First time that I saw him' may refer to Alwyn's film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, where he played a vet suffering from PTSD.

Fans were quick to point out the similarities in Taylor's look to that of Scarlett Johansson's character Motoku Kusanagi in the controversial film Ghost In The Shell.

The sci-fi movie was criticized for white-washing as Johansson was cast in a role many believed should have been played by a person of Japanese descent.

One snarky fan wrote on Twitter, 'Confirmed: At least one person like Ghost In The Shell #TaylorSwfit' alongside a composite split showing the similarities of Taylor's look to that of Scarlett.

While others have noted influences such as the original Blade Runner, Tron, and even Final Fantasy.     

The first music video Taylor released was for Looking What You Made Me Do.

The video was deemed shocking as it referenced her feud with Katy Perry, with Swift even dressing up as the Dark Horse hit maker and making it look as if she gets in a terrible car accident.

The blonde crooner also seemed to call out Kim Kardashian as she referenced her Paris jewel heist where the reality TV star was bound and gagged and left in a bathroom.

Taylor is seen in a bathtub of jewels.

The artist's new album Reputation is due out November 10 in the US. 

November 10 happens to also be the day of the 10th anniversary of Swift's rival, Kanye West's, mother Donda West's death.
