Liam Payne has shot down claims that he and Cheryl will be having a second child, in another awkward bl*w. 

Liam, 24, is already dad to son Bear, one, with the pop star, but when arriving at Tegel airport in Berlin, Germany, on Wednesday, Liam said they were not planning any more.

He said: 'No, that's not true. It's not happening. People just make up stories,' when quizzed on the matter following his return from their 'make-or-break' holiday, the location of which was revealed to be the Maldives.

Liam's confession comes after Twitter users revealed they had spotted the couple returning from the Maldives from their widely-discussed holiday, which comes amid claims of strife in their two-year long relationship.

The duo are said to have travelled to the tropical nation on the same plane as Phillip Schofield, who spent the Easter holidays enjoying a luxury family break.

A fellow traveller took to Twitter to reveal they had caught a look at baby Bear and sent a message to the star reading: 'You just sat in front of me on the plane. “What a beautiful child you have.'

An insider told The Sun: 'The Maldives is a location close to Cheryl and Liam’s hearts. And it’s very private and secluded. They wanted a proper break from everything and it’s exactly what they got.' 

The singer's appearance come after he revealed to ES magazine that it's true that he and Cheryl have had their ups and downs.

He said: 'The funniest thing [about the speculation was that] a week before we were getting married. The next week we're splitting up.   

'For me,' he continued. 'I just like to think we're somewhere in the middle. You know, we have our struggles — like of course I'm not gonna sit here and say that everything's absolutely fine and dandy, because of course you go through different things, and that's what a relationship is.'

He went on to say that their rough patch was inevitable but they were focusing on riding the storm 'together'.

'There was always going to be a little bit of tenseness in the way we sort ourselves out, but tell me a relationship in the world that doesn't go through a spot like that?' 

The pair recently embarked on a 'make or break' holiday at a secret location, with Liam confirming that it had gone well, saying: 'It was good thank you'.

Probed further about whether his family were OK, he added: 'Yeah, yeah, yeah…. great man, can’t complain'. 

His words came after Liam was pictured looking cosy with his backing dancing Chloe Ferns during a work trip to Dubai over Easter weekend, leading Cheryl to hit back at the rumours.

The Fight For This Love singer Cheryl insisted the claims were 'st*pid' shortly as she insisted Chloe was 'an innocent colleague'.

Cheryl drew attention to the fact her 'long-term friend and manager was present' — echoing MailOnline's reports. 

Also Cheryl referenced a snap Liam posted with Katy Perry earlier in the week, amid reports she was annoyed he looked cosy with the Teenage Dream hitmaker in Japan.

She penned: 'I can't ignore this story involving an innocent dancer colleague of Liam's who has a fiancé and dragging them into this desperate attempt to try to cause problems between Liam and I... 

'The other 'mystery woman' in the story happens to be my long term friend and manager (that's embarrassing). I also happen to love Katy Perry. Now.. off on our holiday. And the only thing we're making are memories. And breaking is our healthy eating toodles'.
