Secrets of Kate Middleton’s 20 strong childbirth team – who’ve been on call for three months and had

KATE Middleton welcomed a baby boy in the posh Lindo Wing earlier today, and she had a top team behind her.

The mum-of-three, 36, had a 20-strong crew on hand to assist her with her previous two births - and they had some pretty strict rules, including giving up boo*e for three whole months.

Dr Johanna Bray, who was part of the on-call team for both Prince George and Prince Charlotte's births, previously told People: “We weren’t actually at the birth but were behind the scenes.

"We were all on call for three months – my husband did the childcare for three months!

“You never know when you need to be called. You need to be in town and available. If you are at a party you need to have your car keys at the ready. No drinking!”

Dr Bray was part of a group of professionals from Paddington's St Mary's Hospital including two obstetricians, three midwives, three anesthetists, four surgical staff, two special care baby-unit staff, four paediatricians, one lab technician  and three or four managers.

What will the royal baby be called?

Speculation about the name of Prince William and Kate's third child has been rife since the couple revealed they were expecting last September.

Bookies are taking bets on his name, with Arthur, Albert, James and Alexander currently the favourites.

The odds were slashed on the couple having a boy, after Wills appeared to let slip at an Aston Villa match.

Where is he in line to the throne?

The newborn son of Wills and Kate will be fifth in line to the throne.

Currently if the Queen abdicates, retires or dies, Prince Charles would be king, followed by Prince William and his first two children, George and Charlotte at three and four.

Princess Charlotte has created history after Kate gave birth to a boy, thanks to a change in succession laws.

She became the first female royal to retain her claim to the throne - previously the law dictated that younger brothers would always come before sisters in line to the throne.

Meanwhile any more kids of Wills and Kate will push Prince Harry further down the pecking order - after today's birth, he's now sixth in line to the throne.

Why is the new baby a commoner?

You might be surprised to know that Wills and Kate's new son is technically a COMMONER.

This is because the only people who aren't are the Sovereign, peers of the realm, and those with titles such as Duke, Marquess, Earl, Viscount, and Baron.

It actually means Prince Harry is currently a commoner - although once he marries Meghan Markle the Queen has the option of granting them new titles.

The newborn's full title then, is His Royal Highness Prince of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Catchy, huh?

These are the weird birthing rules Kate had to follow

Kate actually had to follow a bunch of weird rules before giving birth to her third child.

The Queen will have been the first to find out about the newborn Prince - when George was born Prince William reportedly rang her on an encrypted phone.

Other old fashioned rules include the town crier announcing the news to the public, and dads traditionally being banned from the delivery room - although Wills was present for today's birth.

Mia Tindall - daughter of Zara Phillips and former rugby star Mike Tindall - is expecting to become a big sister this year, and will certainly be pals with the royal tot as they grow up, as their parents are close.

But other more unlikely friends include Bluey Branson - the grandson of billionaire Vir*in boss Richard - and Reggie and Olivia Ennis-Hill, the kids of Olympic champion Jessica.

And the new boy could even have a Spice Girl's son as a bestie, as Geri Horner - mum to Montague - and Wills go way back.

The new Prince is a TAURUS - and this is what it could mean

Just like Charlotte, the new Prince is a Taurus.

A Taurus child is cuddly and loving and also extremely strong-willed and stoic. They're tough little characters and there’s something mature and competent about Taurean children.

Just like his big sister, the new baby boy will be polite and respectful in adult company - but not keen on being the centre of attention (that gets left to George who is happy to perform).

But Taureans should never be pushed.

Charlotte’s stability and stoicism can turn into rock-hard belligerence if she is teased, pressurised or, woe betide, forced to do something she is not comfortable with - and this could also ring true for the new baby.
