Matthew Morrison Cory Monteith Mark Salling Death Tribute, Instagram

Earlier today we found out that Mark Salling was found dead after allegedly committing suicide, marking the second Glee cast member to die under shocking circumstances in less than five years. Cory Monteith, the show’s star, passed away on July 13, 2013, after an accidental overdose.

The 35-year-old’s passing was met with shock, of course, but also confusion. Back in October 2017, Mark pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor and agreed to serve four to seven years years in prison as a result. The actor confirmed his decision to enter into a plea deal, explaining, “I am pleading guilty because I am guilty of the charges and wish to take advantages of the promises set forth in this agreement, and not for any other reason.”

Matthew Morrison, who also starred on Glee, knows more than anyone how tough it is to deal with this particular situation. We’re sure he was just as shocked and heartbroken to hear of Mark’s December 2015 arrest as the rest of us, and that he’s feeling a slew of emotions at this moment.

The 39-year-old paid tribute to his deceased Glee co-stars on Instagram not too long ago. Matthew shared an old picture of himself, Mark and Cory and included two angel emojis and a sad-face emoji in the caption.

About a year after his death, MM spoke about CM’s death, saying they were “definitely the tightest” on the Glee set and therefor his passing hit him particularly hard.

“It’s been up and down, we’ve had our highs and our lows,” Matthew told HollywoodLife.com in November 2014. “The passing of Cory was a hard thing on all of us, but I think it’s really brought us all closer. I will look back on this time as very fond memory.
