Pregnant Serena Williams strips down to bikini in Mexico



She crushed the world tennis rankings and even won the Australian Open, all while pregnant.

But even the all-powerful Serena Williams will accept a hand getting her Daisy Dukes back on.

The 35-year-old mom-to-be was spotted enjoying a Mexican beach getaway with her fiance Alexis Ohanian on Sunday.



The world number one lounged on the white Tulum sands with her 21-week-old bump in a fitted swimsuit.

She finished her seaside look in a sun hat, shades and flip flops, ditching her denim cut-offs as she chilled on a sunbed.



Her Reddit co-founder beau rocked long board shorts, stripping off his red tee at one stage to catch some extra rays.

Serena meanwhile kept protected under a thatch beach umbrella the whole time.



When it was time to leave and head back to the hotel, her dutiful man helped her to her feet, and steadied her while she pulled her shorts back on.

Serena announced her engagement to the 34-year-old on December 29.

Last Wednesday she made an even more exciting announcement when she posted a side-profile selfie of herself on Snapchat in a yellow swimsuit and a pronounced bump, with the caption '20 weeks.'



The timing meant she was in her first trimester of pregnancy when she won this year's Australian Open to move to within one grand slam title of matching Australian Margaret Court's record of 24.

In a follow-up selfie, Williams wrote on Instagram: 'My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn't know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can't wait to meet you. I can't wait for you to join the players box next year.

'But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you.... once again today. On @alexisohanian bday. from the world's oldest number one to the world's youngest number one. -Your Mommy.'

While reaction to the joyous news has been 99.9 per cent positive, Serena did encounter unwelcome comments from Romania's women's tennis coach Ilie Nastase.

In a press conference last Friday he was overheard saying about her' unborn baby, 'Let's see what color it has. Chocolate with milk?'

In a two-part post on Instagram, Williams said she supports an International Tennis Federation inquiry into the Romania captain's outbursts, including the reference to her child.

'It disappoints me to know we live in a society where people like Ilie Nastase can make such racist comments towards myself and my unborn child, and sexist comments against my peers,' she wrote.

'I have said it once and I'll say it again, this world has come so far but yet we have so much further to go. Yes, we have broken down so many barriers - however there are a plethora more to go. This or anything else will not stop me from pouring love, light and positivity into everything that I do. I will continue to take a lead and stand up for what's right.

'I am not afraid unlike you. You see, I am no coward. Does my sassiness upset you. Why are you beset with gloom?

'You may shoot me with your words... you may try to kill me with your hatefulness, but still like air, I rise.

'I humbly thank the ITF for any consideration given to all the facts in this case. They will have my full support,' she concluded.
