THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE'S FAVOURITE £50 SUPERGA SHOES



While emulating many of the Duchess of Cambridge's outfits would require a hefty bank balance, fans have been snapping up her latest wardrobe staple for just £50.

Kate loves her white Superga pumps so much she wore them for an intimate black and white family portrait that appears alongside Prince William's interview in the new issue of GQ.

It came after the Duchess made a string of outings in the simple canvas trainers, proving the cult shoe has quickly become the royal's leisure shoe of choice.

And the brand confirmed the 'Kate effect' is as lucrative as ever - a representative told Femail sales of the shoe have doubled since the Duchess snapped up her pair.



The White 2750 Cotu Classics have also been spotted on the likes of Alexa Chung, Karlie Kloss and Emma Watson, as well as Prince Harry's ex Cressida Bonas, and now they have the royal seal of approval as the Duchess flies the flag for the brand.

The Italian footwear brand has reported an increase in sales of 100 per cent since they acquired their latest high-profile fan.

Speaking to the MailOnline a spokesperson for the brand said: 'Superga has seen the sales figures for this style double since Kate has been stepping out wearing them repeatedly.



'As they are Superga's most popular style it's practically impossible to sell out completely as they have plenty of stock of this particular white trainer.'

Jason Fairclough - Head of Marketing for GLD Group, which produces the shoes, said: 'We are both honored and excited that the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to wear our shoes on several occasions, each time Kate wears Superga both our own website and stores see a significant increase in demand'.

The popular sneakers first appeared on Kate's feet during her trip to Canada in October 2016.



The 35-year-old royal was also pictured wearing the versatile shoes during a visit to the Sail and Life Training Society in Victoria.

The Duchess was next spotted in the sports shoe in the run up to the London Marathon, which saw her pair her sneakers with black skinny jeans and a nautical striped top to promote the Heads Together Campaign with her husband and brother-in-law, Prince Harry.

On the day of the marathon the mother-of-two could be seen relying on the comfy lace-ups once again as she cheered from the side lines.



It is not only official engagements that have seen the royal slip into her favourite trainers - she has also been spied sporting them on her days off.

When visiting her sister Pippa Matthews at her West London home ahead of her wedding Kate opted for her fail safe combo of her skinny jeans and Supergas.

It seems that the shoes have serious staying power when it comes to the Duchess' off-duty wardrobe.
