What Rihanna’s been eating isn’t your concern



New pictures have emerged of Rihanna popping out in New York, rocking a pair of baggy ripped jeans and a Bardot-wannabe blue shirt. It’s not the usual skimpy RiRi-style some are used to, as she covered up in the city.

It didn’t take long for one Instagram account to write: ‘Rihanna’s been eating good’.

Talk about all the shade. My question is, what’s it got to do with you?



Rihanna was going about her business and certainly wasn’t angling for red carpet attention, yet the torrent of abuse that the Love on the Brain star then has been subjected to is unjustifiable – her notifications must have sent her phone nuclear.

‘I thought it was just me. She’s actually getting fat,’ one Instagram user wrote.

While another added: ‘All that munchies’.

There were also those who came to the star’s defence for becoming ‘thick’, with one writing: ‘Rihanna looking way better with some weight on.’



But still, why do they have to even defend Rihanna against this kind of abuse?

Yes, some celebrities make cash based on modelling and the way that they look so can be at times considered ‘free game’ when it comes to judging on looks. Rihanna is a fine example of a body confident woman who doesn’t shy away from putting it all on display in whatever way she chooses.

But that’s the point, it’s her choice. It’s not up to anyone else to judge her size, and you have to ask yourself, how does RiRi’s weight really affect your day-to-day?

It’s funny, but in the funny I want to cry in my cereal type of way, that the second that a famous woman appears to wear bulking clothes or seems to have put on the tiniest bit of weight, and all of a sudden they’re pregnant.

People have got it twisted, firstly saying that we need more real life role models not the stick-thin catwalk types that are shoved down our throats day in and day out – but when it happens IRL, people lose their minds.
