Doria looks overcome with emotion as she escorts Meghan Markle



Doria Ragland was the image of pride as she accompanied her daughter Meghan Markle to St George's Chapel on her wedding day.



The 61-year-old appeared to fight back the tears as she took her pew in St George's Chapel after accompanying her daughter in her short car journey to the ceremony.



Her concerned soon-to-be son-in-law Prince Harry looked to offer her some reassurance, turning to catch her eye from the altar.



The mother of the bride looked elegant in a lime-green coat and matching dress by Oscar De La Renta as she sat alone in the chapel waiting for Meghan to walk down the aisle. 



Doria had accompanied Meghan from Cliveden House, in Taplow, Berkshire, where she spent the night.



Royal fans were given the first glimpse of the bride, who looked stunning in a gown by British designer Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy - complete with a 15ft veil embroidered with flowers of the Commonwealth - as she headed to Windsor Castle.



Her mother Doria smiled and looked adoringly at her daughter in the back of her wedding car, again supporting her in the absence of her father Thomas Markle.



The Rolls-Royce Phantom IV was built and delivered to the Queen in 1950 and used by Kate Middleton for her trip to Westminster Abbey when she married William seven years ago.



The pair could be seen chatting, and a relaxed-looking Meghan gave a brief wave, as the vintage Rolls-Royce Phantom IV, left for the drive to the Windsor Castle.





Last night Meghan looked stunning as she arrived with her mother Doria Ragland, 62, after enjoying afternoon tea with the Queen.



The presence of Miss Ragland, 61, who is extremely close to her daughter and still calls her ‘flower’, will undoubtedly calm Miss Markle’s nerves in what has been an unexpectedly fraught and hugely emotional week. 



Meanwhile Miss Ragland, a yoga instructor, flew into Heathrow on an overnight flight from Los Angeles last week.



Dressed casually in a T-shirt, linen trousers and canvas pumps, and carrying a suit bag containing what is believed to be her Burberry wedding outfit, she was picked up from the steps of the aircraft by a royal fleet Jaguar.



She was driven to Heathrow’s VIP Windsor suite, where Harry’s assistant private secretary Amy Pickerill was waiting with an immigration officer. A member of staff from the private office carried her bags.



Miss Ragland, described as a ‘free spirit’ by her daughter and ‘amazing’ by Harry, was taken to Kensington Palace where she will stay until Friday.



She did not have long to shake off any effects of jet lag - just 24 hours later she met with the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
