Ex girlfriend Chelsy Davy attends Harry and Meghan's wedding



While most ex girlfriends wouldn't expect an invite to their former partner's big day, Prince Harry has form for staying on good terms with his old flames.



And today, as the royal, 33, prepared to exchange vows with Meghan Markle there were at least two exes in the congregation.



Former long-term love Chelsy Davy, 32, who dated the prince from 2003 to 2010 joined Cressida Bonas, Harry's most serious girlfriend prior to meeting Meghan.



Another old flame Ellie Goulding is also rumoured to be attending, but has not been spotted yet, although fellow singer Joss Stone was among the guests.



The hitmaker and Harry have a long standing friendship, previously sparking rumours of a romance, which have never been confirmed. 



Sarah Allard, editor at wedding planning website hitched.co.uk, said: While they are no strict rules on the etiquette around whether to invite an ex to a wedding or not, their attendance can be a huge reminder of the past on a day that’s supposed to be about your love and future together.



'I would say that unless the relationship was so long ago that you’ve been able to move into the ‘friend zone’ and there are absolutely no feelings there whatsoever, that inviting an ex to your big day is a big no no.



'Having said that, with the world’s eyes on Harry as he marries Meghan, it’s unlikely that he’ll be thinking about anyone other than her.'



CRESSIDA BONAS



Cressida was once the woman who many presumed would one day be planning a wedding with Harry.



She is the daughter of renowned Sixties It girl Lady Mary Gaye Curzon (whose father was the 6th Earl Howe) and Old Harrovian Jeffrey Bonas and is close friends with Beatrice and Eugenie.





However, Cressida and Harry split in 2014 after two years of dating 



The break-up was believed to have caused by Cressida's struggle to handle the public scrutiny that came with the two-year relationship, and her desire to pursue her acting career.



Harry has stayed good friends with Chelsy and Cressida, so they will be there,’ a friend revealed.



‘He made sure there were no hard feelings when they split up. I don’t think Meghan will mind.’

Such is the enduring friendship of 32-year-old Zimbabwe-born Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry that she secured an invite to the big day, despite being regarded as 'the one who got away'.



After first meeting while she was a teenager at Cheltenham and then getting together during Harry's gap year in Cape Town, Davy returned to the UK to study in Leeds and be closer to the young royal.



She has spoken of their time together - and the subsequent media interest - as 'crazy and scary and uncomfortable'.





The pair broke up in 2010 after a seven-year romance, but Chelsy was still Harry's date for William and Kate's wedding in 2011.



Their relationship has been strictly platonic ever since, bar a fling in South Africa in 2015 and she previously said they would always be friends.



However, the lawyer turned jewellery designer is said to be feeling hurt after being left of the guest list for the more intimate evening do at Frogmore House, attended by 200 close friends and relatives.





JOSS STONE



The singer is an ambassador for Harry's charity Sentebale and a long-standing friend.



The charity supports the mental health and wellbeing of children in Lesotho and Botswana who have been affected by HIV.



Their friendship dates back over a decade with Joss performing at the memorial tribute concert for Princess Diana on the 10th anniversary of her death in 2007. 





ELLIE GOULDING



The blonder singer and Prince Harry enjoyed a short lived romance back in 2016, after years of texting back and forth. 



Blushing Ellie skirted the issue of romance in October 2016 when she was asked outright about the rumours on TV, by The Project host Carrie Bickmore.



'Please don't let me go red. I'm bright red,' she said. 'Why did I have a feeling that was going to come up? You naughty people.'



Ellie was believed to have been quite 'taken' by Prince Harry when she invited him to perform at the closing ceremony for the inaugural Invictus Games in 2014.



Two years later, onlookers at the Audi Polo Challenge 2016 claimed that they had even been 'kissing' under a blanket during a post-polo event.



While the romance didn't go anywhere, Ellie and Harry are said to have stayed 'good friends' thanks to moving in the same circles for years. 



Ellie famously performed at the Duke and Duchess's 2011 wedding, and the singer is a close friend of Eugenie and Beatrice.



She's even joined the York girls and Fergie for one of their cosy mother-daughter dinners in London after the trio attended one of her gigs.
