Royal Wedding Prince Charles to walk Meghan Markle down the aisle as she marries Prince Harry
Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at her Royal Wedding to Prince Harry tomorrow.
The announcement was made on Friday morning after news came earlier this week that her own father would not be able to attend the wedding following emergency heart surgery in Mexico.
In statement, Kensington Palace said: "Ms Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to The Royal Family in this way."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Windsor Castle yesterday for a final dress r ehearsal ahead of the nuptials on Saturday , which will be viewed by millions around the world.
What time is the Royal Wedding?
The Royal Wedding service will begin at midday – so a clash with the football is unlikely because FA Cup finals usually don't kick off until 5.30pm.
The wedding will be shown on TV, it's been confirmed.
At 1pm, the newlyweds will embark on a carriage procession along a route including Castle Hill, High Street, Sheet Street, Kings Road, Albert Road, Long Walk and finally Windsor Castle.
After the service, there will be a lunchtime reception at St George's Hall for the couple and guests from the congregation.
Harry and Ms Markle will join their guests at the reception when they return from the carriage procession.
Later that evening, the Prince of Wales will give a private evening reception for the couple and their close friends and family. This will be at Frogmore House.
Who will perform at the Royal Wedding?
The music will be supervised by James Vivian, the Director of Music at St George's Chapel, where the couple are tying the knot.
He will conduct the chapel choir - and the 23 St George's School pupils who'll be performing for the royals.
Among those to perform at the chapel will be 19-year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, who won BBC Young Musician 2016.
Sheku Kanneh-Mason, a rising star of the classical music world, said he was "bowled over" when Prince Harry's fiancee requested his services - and he agreed immediately.
Gospel stars The Kingdom Choir will also perform, led by conductor Karen Gibson.
Meghan and Harry will also have an orchestra - led by conductor Christopher Warren-Green.
Welsh soprano singer Elin Manahan Thomas will accompany the orchestra along with trumpeter David Blackadder.
Luke Bond will play the organ, and the State Trumpeters - from the Band of the Household Cavalry - will provide 'ceremonial support'.
Wolverhampton-born soul singer Beverley Knight has said she would love to perform at the upcoming royal wedding, if she was asked by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Performers for the wedding reception have not been announced but there's plenty of speculation, with Elton John and the Spice Girls rumoured to be leading the line-up.
Who will be best man?
Unsurprisingly, Prince William will be best man.
Prince Harry has asked the Duke of Cambridge to be his best man and now his brother has the job of organising a stag party to remember.
William, 35, is said to be "honoured" to have been chosen by his younger brother to perform the special role, and is looking forward to the task.
Harry's decision was widely expected as the royal siblings are very close and he served as William's best man during his 2011 wedding to the Duchess of Cambridge.
Underneath the public banter, where they regularly poke fun at each other, the pair share a special bond which was strengthened following the death of their mother Diana, Princess of Wales, in a Paris car crash.
William spoke about their connection during 2017 - the 20th anniversary year of Diana's death - telling Kate during an interview, as Harry, 33, sat with them: "We have been brought closer because of the circumstances as well that's the thing.
"You know, we are uniquely bonded because of what we've been through."
Dairy Milk bars are being made in Poland as US owner of Cadbury breaks key promise The US owner of Cadbury is breaking a key promise and making an increasing amount of its iconic Dairy Milk chocolate bars in Poland rather than at its British base. Mondelez, which was created by Kraft, is making large 300g bars of Dairy Milk and some classic size 95g bars of the brand in its expanded factories in Wroclaw. This breaks a pledge given in the wake of Kraft’s bitter takeover of the British company seven years ago that it would continue to make the sweets at its historic Bournville home in the West Midlands. The Mail on Sunday found large Dairy Milk bars – brandishing a specific code on the wrapper indicating they were made in Poland – on sale in the UK in various major retailers, while the 95g bars were on sale in smaller shops. Last night Mondelez insisted that the production in Poland of 95g bars was a ‘temporary move’ because Bournville had been busy. But many traditionalists...
Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor top 10 moments Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are masters of their craft but also world class promoters. In Showtime's four-part All Access programme, a behind-the-scenes look at both men not only helped hype the August 26 showdown but provided plenty of insight and entertaining moments. Sportsmail takes a look back at the top 10 highlights including Mayweather playing the cowboy and a trip to the Irishman's first ever boxing gym. Mayweather stacking cash What would a show around the 'Money Man' be if it failed to illustrate his ludicrous lifestyle. Mayweather has no qualms about flashing the cash and is seen taking out huge stacks out of a backpack. The 40-year-old is also filmed on board his private jet, tipping the pilots $1000 dollars each. Everyone knows Mayweather's lifestyle is as lavish as it comes but to see him throwing around that kind of money in it's physical form makes you stop in your tracks. Mc...
Prince Harry's style makeover by Meghan Markle Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went public with their romance, the Royal is rarely seen without a beaming smile. But Harry's evident happiness isn't the only impact his soon-to-be wife has had on his appearance - it seems his wardrobe has had something of an overhaul, too. Having once stuck to a reliable uniform of suits and ties for royal engagements, and chinos, colourful polo-shirts and sports jackets while off-duty, the Prince has displayed a noticeably more dapper style since he began stepping out with Meghan on his arm - and the change has not gone unnoticed by style commentators. In the weeks since their engagement was announced in November, the Prince has been snapped in more earthy and neutral coloured ensembles and well-tailored suits as seen during his appearance in Brixton on Tuesday. As well as opting for a more sophisticated colour palette, he has even been seen sartorially in sync with the...
