Royal Wedding car Meghan and Prince Harry's E type Jag belonged to musician who died

MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry’s Royal Wedding car, a sleek Jaguar E-type, has been revealed to have a history in the hands of celebrities and was previously owned by the keyboard player for Jamiroquai before his death last year.

The E-type, which drove Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle to their wedding reception at Frogmore House, Windsor, after the ceremony on Saturday, belonged to Toby Grafftey-Smith, who died on April 11, 2017.

“The Royal Wedding car was bought from Toby,” his widow Gabriella Crewe-Read told the Daily Mail. “His brilliance is everywhere.”

She then added that her late husband is “still here”.

Toby, who died last April after a six-year battle with skin cancer, was a classic car enthusiast and the E-type was sold by his spouse after his death.

The car is a zero-emissions, battery-electric-powered version of the 1968 model with LED headlights.

It is thought to be worth £350,000.

The stylish vehicle, which sported a number plate with the date of the Royal Wedding on for the glamorous outing at the weekend, can do 0-62 in under six seconds and its modern makeover means it now boasts a carbon fibre dashboard and touch screen control panel.

The newlyweds drove it to their star-studded reception from Windsor Castle on Saturday afternoon after changing out of their wedding ceremony outfits.

Meghan, 36, switched her breathtaking Givenchy bridal gown for a chic Stella McCartney number.

The halterneck frock flashed a little flesh for the evening’s celebrations and hugged the Duchess of Sussex’s slender figure.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry, 33, who wore his Blues and Royals frock coat uniform to the wedding, changed into a sharp black suit and bow-tie.

The wedding was attended by a host of their celebrity friends, including the actres' former Suits co-stars.

Meghan ex-Suits boss Aaron Korsh previously spilled all after the event, saying Prince Harry looked “vulnerable” at the Royal Wedding.

The 51-year-old writer, who created the hit US legal drama, took to Twitter to reveal his thoughts, telling his 56,000 followers: “I can tell you the wedding was the most extraordinary thing I’ve ever seen.

“From the second we left our castle-esque hotel to the drive up to and through Windsor, to the walk towards the chapel and then afterwards to the reception, it was one once in a lifetime experience after another.

“Seeing each member of the wedding walk the aisle, Harry looking earnest and somehow vulnerable, Meghan looking strong and proud and regal and beautiful… it started things off amazingly,” he continued.

Giving an insight into proceedings, Aaron’s message went on: “From there, just being in the chapel to experience such a seemingly world-changing event was incredible.

“To have the mix of cultures on so many levels and to have two such capable ambassadors showing the world how it should be was moving beyond words,” he praised.

He also joked about the list of celebrity names in attendance, recalling how he found himself walking next to Sir Elton John and George Clooney after the ceremony.

“I can only sum it up by saying it felt like the world was becoming a better place today,” he concluded. “But one thing is for sure, my world will forever be richer for having those memories stored away in my consciousness."
