She's just given birth to her first son, Lars Gerard Gibson, just five weeks ago.

And Rosalind Ross has shown off her slender post baby body walking alongside her husband Mel Gibson on the Oscars red carpet.

The 26-year-old screenwriter showed off her trim figure in a floor length sheer baby blue gown.





The strapless gown sat elegantly on her body as she posed for photographers arm-in-arm with her filmmaker husband, whose film Hacksaw Ridge was nominated for an accolade.



Her dress featured a corset bust and jacquard floral detailing on her waist.

Rosalind's Oscars look was paired with a matching blue envelope clutch.



Her dress was showcased dazzling blue bejeweled pendant, earrings and ring.

The screenwriter's hair was styled in a braided up do, while her dramatic eye makeup contrasted her soft pink lipstick and flawless porcelain skin.

On the red carpet, the couple met with Channel Nine presenter Richard Wilkins, briefly chatted to him about their newborn.

Mel was also quick to share the first cute snap of Lars in his crib and donning a tuxedo to the red carpet correspondent



In a recent interview with Extra host Mario Lopez he gushed about his newborn.

'He even smiles. He has a grin going, so something's funny — I don't know what.'

The last time Mel won an Oscar award was was for directing was for his 1995 film Braveheart.
