But Ryan Gosling's sister Mandi filled in for his girlfriend Eva Mendes at the Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday.

Social media platform Twitter went wild over identity of the 36-year-old's date as the ceremony aired on Sunday night.



Mandi no doubt dropped jaws as she attended the show beside her brother in an extremely low-cut gold gown.

Comments online primarily centered in on Mandi's cleavage.



User MaryWallYall said: 'Just found out the boobs by Gosling is his sister and now I feel a little awkward.'

Another from user Ginny asked:  'Who belongs to the boobs next to Ryan Gosling?



Twitter user Vito Selvaggi hilariously tweeted, 'Someone introduce me to Ryan Gosling's sister.'

Some Twitter users even correctly theorized the woman beside Ryan was his sister.

'Have we figured out who @RyanGosling's date is? His sister?? She's gorgeous,' wrote Melissa Kenney.



Ryan was initially spotted walking the red carpet solo in a fetching tuxedo in Hollywood on Sunday.

The dashing La La Land star looked every inch the A-lister as he hogged the limelight alone after opting against bringing his long-term lover Eva Mendes as his date.

The Canadian beefcake was in fine form as he opted for a classic look of black tuxedo, frilly shirt, bow tie and shiny leather shoes.
