For most most people in the room, those little golden statuettes are all anybody wants to get their hands on.

Except Taraji P Henson, who just wants some Red Vines.

The Empire star looked like she had just won Best Actress when a packet of candy parachuted right into her lap on Sunday night.





Following Ellen DeGeneres popular pizza ordering stunt in 2014, host Jimmy Kimmel surprised everybody in the Dolby Theatre with a sweet treat.

 'You can't really have movies without candy,' he told the crowd. 'It's un-American.

'Yeah, popcorn is, too, but we don't have that,' he added after a prompt from the crowd.



After telling everyone to close their eyes and wish for some, suddenly the auditorium was filled with tiny white parachutes carrying bags of Junior Mints and Red Vines.

And nobody was more excited than Taraji, who was caught on camera squealing with joy at her bounty.

'It's time to find out how well those Spanx really work,' Jimmy joked.

Meryl Streep was spotted sharing hers with husband Don Gummer, while Andrew Garfield was seen graciously handing over his two his Best Actor rival Casey Affleck.

 'You know, for an extra $2 you can add avocado added to any of those candies,' he added, poking fun at the health conscious Californians in the room.

Earlier, Taraji took to the stage with her Hidden Figures co-stars Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monae to present the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, which was won by OJ: Made In America.
